Prayer is the Work

Praying for Moms
  • For our moms to find their identity ultimately as a child of God, to see their value and worth not as defined by the world’s standards but by God’s Word and His truth
  • For our church members who have struggled with infertility or miscarriages to find comfort and hope in their Shepherd; for those who have strained relationships with their mom/children to move towards reconciliation; for God to draw near to comfort those who have experienced loss in losing their mom
  • For our moms to grow in depending upon Christ and to model to their children what it means to rely not on themselves but on our Savior who restores and redeems us in the midst of our weaknesses and sin
  • For our moms to recognize the greatness of their calling, to be Christ’s ambassadors in the home to help their children discover together God’s plan and promises for their lives, and to faithfully steward the numerous daily opportunities to shape life to the glory of God
Praying for our Church
  • Draw near (our spiritual maturity and worship of God)
    • Pray for the joy of salvation to spread in our church at the privilege to worship God
    • Pray for a greater hunger for God’s Word and the humble desire to obey it
    • Pray for our leaders to be on guard against mere performance and, instead, to grow in affection for Christ
    • Pray for the wisdom and discipline to spend time communing with the LORD daily
  • Hold fast (a gospel centrality to all we do as a church)
    • Pray for our friendships to be rooted in Christ, not just shared interest or stage of life
    • Pray for our students to hold fast to the authority of the Bible over any other rival and to finish the school year well
    • Pray for the gospel to permeate our marriages in how we love and serve and for gracious reconciliation
    • Pray for the Children and Bridge ministry to continue to share the love of Christ that they might share the message of Christ
    • Pray for the upcoming Grace Gathering and deeper relationships of encouragement and accountability
  • Consider one another (specific brothers and sisters we are to love and care for)
    • Pray for the person overseeing a ministry your involved in
    • Pray for those in your circles who are suffering and going through something difficult
    • Pray for a specific need of someone you fellowship with
    • Pray for your heart and one tangible step you can take to be an encouragement to another person at Lighthouse
Praying for the Lost
  • That unbelieving family members, friends, and neighbors would come to faith in Christ.
  • That those who are in positions of power and influence would come to faith in Christ and use their influence to serve and love others, promote good, and deter evil.
  • For opportunities to share the gospel and have conversations with the lost and for us to be bold.
  • For wisdom as we talk and interact with unbelievers. To live with integrity and be a light in the classroom, workplace, and in our families, which includes being above reproach, excellent, loving, and reliable in everything we do as we bear the name of Christ.
