Please meet Isaac! He’s a new addition to Lighthouse’s staff and he’ll be serving as a pastoral intern in Kairos, our high school ministry. Learn a little bit about him through these questions and answers, then give him a warm welcome!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hi everyone! My name is Isaac Gagarinas and I will be one of this Summer’s pastoral interns! I am currently an MDiv student at Cedarville University, but I am from Rochester, New York. You’ve probably never heard of Rochester, but we’re about an hour and half from Buffalo, so just think lots of snow!
What are your hobbies and interests? What do you do in your free time?
As far as hobbies, I love good coffee; both making coffee and finding good coffee shops wherever I travel. I love traveling to national parks and hiking whenever I can, and I also love football and baseball.
As you may know by now, the Lighthouse staff loves food. What are your favorite foods?
Two of my favorite foods would probably have to be buffalo wings and tacos, specifically fish tacos. There’s no better day in western NY than ordering a ton of bunch of wings and watching the Buffalo Bills on a Sunday afternoon.
Are there any interesting facts we should know about you?
Something interesting about me is that my degree as an undergrad was accounting and I worked as an auditor a year before starting my MDiv.
How has your time in the church office been? What are you looking forward to?
Time in the office has been great so far! All of staff has been so encouraging and I’m pumped to learn under their leadership and seek after the Lord together. I am also excited to know that there are people here that love coffee as much as I do.
What will your role be on staff at Lighthouse?
I will be one of the Summer Pastoral Interns. While I will bounce around several ministries, my emphasis will be with Kairos.
In what ways are you looking forward to doing ministry at Lighthouse?
I am first really looking forward to getting to know the staff and people of Lighthouse! I am excited to learn under leadership and see how and why Lighthouse does ministry the way they do. I am excited for opportunities to teach as well as learn about Lighthouse’s counseling ministries.
How can we, as your church family, be praying for you?
First, I’d ask for prayer that I would approach this summer with a humble attitude so that God could grow me and show areas of weakness. I have so much to learn practically for ministry as well as from a spiritual stand point. I pray God will mature and grow me through the people of Lighthouse. I also pray that God would reveal areas of giftings or lack of giftings that I may have clarity in direction for ministry.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I am so excited to get to know the Lighthouse family! I have heard so many amazing things of how God has been working so I am excited to jump in and be a part of it!
Bonus Question: If you were a kitchen appliance, what would you be?
