Sunday Fuel: Oct. 25, 2026

Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.

1. How would you explain why storing up treasure on earth is a foolish long-term investment? How does the fact that our work and investments will one day be tested by fire (1 Cor. 3:12-15) put things in perspective?

2. Randy Alcorn explains in his video that we currently live in the dot, that is, on earth. It is easy for the sin that still remains in us to deceive and tempt us to find our identity and security in earthly treasures—money and possessions as well as titles, accomplishments, status, etc.

In what ways are you trying to find your security, identity, joy, and hope in these earthly treasures? Confess this to the Lord.

3. In contrast to this short-sighted vision, “living for the line” means living in the dot/earth, but enjoying God’s good gifts with gratitude instead of putting our hope in them.

What are some things on earth that God has blessed you with? Name them and thank Him for His blessings.

4. How can the promise of rewards in the next life encourage you to be faithful with what God has blessed you now? How can you “live for the line” and lay up treasure in heaven by being generous with what you have? What might it look like for you to do good, be rich in good works, and share what you have (1 Tim. 6:17-19)?
