Sunday Fuel: Nov. 9, 2025

Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.

Go to This Sunday’s Sermon (start at 32:54)

1. Identify what is robbing you of peace: relational struggles, a situation you cannot change, financial concerns, the unknown future, health problems, the wellbeing of loved ones…What is keeping you up at night, leaving your heart restless or anxious?

2. Honestly fill in the blank: “If only _____, then I can rest or be at peace.” Be truthful with God and confess the personal strategies you use to try to make your life better or attain what you want. Even if you are praying, are you asking with a prideful heart for your selfish desires, that God will help you get your idols? Ask God to help you recognize your counterfeit gods that we turn to for the shalom we’re wired for. Pray that God will help you approach your anxieties as an opportunity to grow in faith and trust in Him and distinctly reflects your faith in Christ.

3. What are some blessings you enjoy now because you now have peace with God through Christ (Rom. 5:1)? What promises in His Word speak to your concern? What truths about God’s nature highlighted in the sermon—his sovereignty, goodness, power do you need to remember in your particular situation (or other truths)? Specifically, how does the truth that God is at hand help put your anxieties into perspective? How does his presence and nearness help bring peace? How can the truth of His imminent return bring rest to your heart? As you meditate on these truths, make a list of reasons you have to be thankful. (Not sure what meditation is? Be sure to check out the upcoming seminar!)

4. In this spirit of gratitude, humbly but boldly turn to Him in prayer, presenting your specific request to Him.

5. After making your request, will you surrender the results and/or the timeline into His hands? Instead of fixing your eyes on your situation, will you commit yourself to keeping your gaze on Christ who is constantly praying for you as you walk through your challenges? Rest in His love, rejoicing that He is with you each moment of your struggle and will see you through it for your good and His glory.
