Sunday Fuel: May 18, 2025

Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.

Go to This Sunday’s Sermon

1. How would you answer these four questions:

  • What is most important? What drives your devotion and service?
  • Who am I? Is your identity shaped by the gospel or something else?
  • Where do I find help and hope? What are you searching for to make life work right?
  • How can I be happy? How would you fill in the blank “I would be happy if…”?

    2. The key idea for the entire book is found in Philippians 1:21: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Take some time to review your responses to the previous questions. Based on your answers, how would you complete this sentence: “For to me to live is _____________.”

    3. Pastor Kim points out that even in the first few opening verses of this letter, Paul centers his focus on Christ Jesus. Christ is life. Take some time to read Philippians 2:5-11. Meditate on each phrase.

    • What do you see about God’s character?
    • What truths from this passage grow your worship of God?

    4. Because Christ is life, and we are to “have this mind” among ourselves (2:5), how might this passage impact how you believe, think, behave or live in the ordinary moments and everyday relationships in your life?

    Challenges

    1. Read or listen to the entire book of Philippians this week.

    2. Memorize Philippians or portions of it as we work through this sermon series :

    • Start with Philippians 1:21
    • Ten key passages (next week)
    • Or memorize the entire book!
