Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.
- How do you view God: as a loving Father who providentially and perfectly equips us with all we need, or as a harsh taskmaster? Why?
- Pastor Jason reminds us that we are stewards, not owners, of all the resources we have. Does this reflect your perspective? If not, where does it differ? Ask God to help you grow in your understanding of what it means to be His steward.
- Take time to think deeply on the generosity of God to you through the Gospel. Consider the fact that if it were not for Christ, you are hopeless to save yourself. Think of your renewed relationship with God, your dead spirit now made alive, the gift of new godly desires to please God. Remember that as a seal of your faith, He has placed His Spirit in you, who is with you through all trials and struggles to help you walk in faith and obedience.
- Pray that God would help you reframe your present life in light of the eternal glories that await us in Christ. How might this change how you love God with all that He has blessed you with?
- Take a moment to “take stock” of what God has entrusted to you: material resources, time, talents, spiritual gifts, intangible gifts, energy, passions, personality, experiences, attitudes. Even the season of life or circumstances we find ourselves in are a gift to steward well.
- Whether it is “5 talents,” “2 talents,” or “1 talent,” how might you invest these bountiful blessings into kingdom blessings? What might it look like to wisely invest what you have been given so that you can be excited to show Him how you have used His gifts when you meet Him face-to-face?
- How might you glorify God and serve others with what you have been given?
- How might even the enjoyment of these blessings foster gratitude and praise to God as you take pleasure in His good gifts to you?
