Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.
In this message, Pastor Kim reminds us that we are now citizens of a new country, under the rule of a loving King who gave His life to rescue us. Our true citizenship is in heaven, where He awaits us, which changes how we live here on earth as ambassadors of Christ, representing Him in gospel ministry (the pursuit of the expansion of the gospel in the hearts of believers and in the salvation of unbelievers).
1. With this in mind, pick one of the following to reflect on:
a. How does this change how we view our time at church each Sunday? How does it change how we engage with each other–with our leaders and other members? How might you grow in oneness and unity as you live and serve together?
b. How does this change how we view our closest relationships at home or with family? How can we view them in light of gospel ministry?
c. How does this impact how we view our work for the week? In what way(s) does your work give you an opportunity to encourage others in Christ or share the gospel with unbelievers?
d. How does this change your view of the sufferings you are going through today? How might remembering that even suffering can be a grace from God, for our good, help you endure through your hardships?
2. How might these thoughts through the lens of our new reality in Christ help you live differently today? What is one step you can take today?
- Pray instead of trusting yourself?
- Move towards another in love instead of staying safe?
- Send a word of encouragement to someone in the church, including your pastors or leaders?
- Persevere in representing Christ our King, out of love and gratitude for His love for you, even if it is costly?
