Sunday Fuel: Feb. 23, 2025

Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.

As we wrap up this study in the book of Ecclesiastes, consider some of the exhortations that we received.

1. What is the heat in your life in this season? If this is a good season in your life, what smaller moments in your life do you feel the heat?

2. When life under the sun is particularly difficult, is there something that you are holding on to, instead of God, for your security or relief? What key truths from Ecclesiastes helps you to put these alternative choices into perspective?

3. What would it look like to fear God (through worship, obedience, generosity, faith, love, trust) instead? How would a godly desire to fear Him lead you to respond differently in the midst of your heat?

4. How does the reminder of death impact how you live this season? Consider:

  • How can the reality that this life will end help you to make better choices in light of eternity?
  • What are some good things about your hard seasons that you can enjoy today?
  • Out of the fullness of what God has given you, what are ways you can be generous—with your forgiveness, finances, friendship, food…?

5. Take time to wrap up this reflection with prayer.

  • Thank God for the season of life you’re in right now.
  • Confess the ways that you look elsewhere for help or relief.
  • Share your desire to live in godly fear before Him.
  • Ask Him to help you work against the grain of our ingratitude and selfishness.
  • Praise Him for that this life here under the sun is not the end but an opportunity for us to grow in faith and trust to become more like Christ.
