1. Pastor Kim observes, “The ordinary but special Christian life is about Christ and the great danger to that life is selfishness.”

  • What are the challenges at home, school, or work that we face that keep us from being faithful to give, serve, or witness? What are some reasons we give that keep us from being humble or serving others?
  • In your challenging situation, what might it look like to live as if Christ mattered most? How would you seek the interests of Christ, which would be the interests of other people?
  • If the gospel is their greatest interest, how would that impact how you would serve or treat them? How would you share the gospel with them? Or how would you point them to Christ?

2. “Faithfulness is not first about what is going on outside of us but inside of us. It’s not the state of our circumstances but the state of our hearts.”

Spend some time confessing the ways you allow your own selfish interests override the interests of Christ, which are the interests of other people. Where do you fall short of valuing what He values?

3. How can you commit to faithfully consider and value what Christ loves in the ordinary moments of your life? Think back to your challenges in question 1. What might it look like to take a genuine interest in others this week?
