Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.
Go to This Sunday’s Sermon start at 28:53
- Read Philippians 3:7-8.
- Create a list of losses that you may incur through living for Christ by being generous.
- Then create a list of gains you have experienced already by knowing Christ. What spiritual benefits has He made possible for you? How has He blessed you, whether in good times or hard?
- Compare these gains to the losses. Do you see any correspondence between the two? How have the spiritual benefits outweighed the losses?
- Take time to praise and thank God for the gain of knowing Christ.
2. In what ways does sacrificing your money reveal its hold on you or your hold on it? How does giving it up in order to trust Christ allow you to know and experience Christ in a new way?
3. Throughout this campaign, we heard many testimonies of God’s goodness in a variety of ways. If you were invited to share a testimony of what God has done for you during this giving campaign, what highlights would you share with the church family? What significant ways has God been changing you over the past six weeks?
4. If you are not in a position to give or relatively new to the church, what are some lessons of stewardship and living for eternity have you learned? What are some of the riches or talents you have been entrusted with? How can you be generous in creative, non-monetary ways to God’s work in this church family?
