Please meet Viet! He’s a new addition to Lighthouse’s staff and he’ll be serving as a pastoral intern in Kairos, our high school ministry. Learn a little bit about him through these questions and answers, then give him a warm welcome!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hi Lighthouse family! My name is Viet. I just graduated from USC with a degree in Computer Science in December of 2021. I was born in Vietnam, but I’ve basically lived in SoCal my entire life and have been going to Lighthouse for almost 5 years now!
What are your hobbies and interests? What do you do in your free time?
I love all things music — singing, playing keys, listening! I also enjoy photography and playing League of Legends:)
As you may know by now, the Lighthouse staff loves food. What are your favorite foods?
Bún Bò Huế, but only when my mom makes it! It’s this Vietnamese beef noodle soup that my mom makes for me every time I go home!
Are there any interesting facts we should know about you?
My useless skill is that I have really really good writing (but only print). Unfortunately, it is useless, because I don’t like physically writing and I code for a living… I also have a permanent scar on my achilles, because I stuck my foot in a motorcycle when I was a kid in Vietnam.
How has your time in the church office been? What are you looking forward to?
Super awesome & sanctifying! It’s great to be on staff with people who are so much wiser and older than me.
What will your role be on staff at Lighthouse?
I am a Pastoral Intern and I am assigned to Youth!
In what ways are you looking forward to doing ministry at Lighthouse?
Super excited for the preaching practicums and the opportunity to teach God’s word! I am also excited to get to know the Youth better!
How can we, as your church family, be praying for you?
I am using this summer and the internship to discern whether or not God has called me into full time ministry, so please pray for wisdom and discernment throughout these next few months!
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I am super excited to be on staff for a few months and to get to know and serve my church family! Thank you for this opportunity:)
Bonus Question: If you could have one thing come out of your belly button in an unlimited amount on demand, what would it be? The pain of it coming out of you is correlated with its value.
Jasmine Milk Tea, because I don’t like water and have an unhealthy obsession with sweet drinks…
