We can’t believe it’s already the last day of KSE! This week went by so quickly, and it feels so bittersweet to think that our five days at KSE are already over. Today’s truth was God keeps His promises and we looked at Matthew 6:24–34, specifically verse 26:

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

As we’ve traveled around Japan this week, we’ve been surrounded by so much beauty and have seen God’s handiwork throughout His creation. If He cares for the birds and all of creation, how much more will He care for us? It was a sweet way to end our week of lessons, which reminded us that God sees us, cares for us, loves us, forgives us, and is faithful to keep His promises.

Akiko taught the older kids’ lesson, and everyone else continued with their usual stations. The kids were able to make fun butterfly crafts, do a fun relay race, eat some Japanese and American snacks, and practice the worship songs. It was also our last time spending hours talking and hanging out with the families after KSE. It’s been so cool to see how much these relationships have grown in just five days. By the last day, conversations felt more natural and intentional, and we were able to talk more deeply with many of the moms and families. Praise God for opening these doors and allowing these relationships to grow so quickly!

Cindy was a trooper again and took family photos for seven more families. After prepping for the American party and cleaning up some rooms at the Ikomaikan, we made a stop at Daiso before having tonkatsu with the Kawai family. It was such a sweet way to end a long but incredible week of KSE.

One thing we talked about over dinner was how sharing the gospel doesn’t have to be as scary as we sometimes make it out to be. We’ve seen so much openness from the people we’ve met this week, and it’s been encouraging to see how naturally conversations about faith can happen. We pray that we would continue to have courage and boldness to share what we know to be true about Jesus.

We also talked about praying for the longevity of Logos Church. All of the leaders at Logos are faithful servants who have a deep love for the Japanese people, but ministry here can be spiritually and physically challenging. As current leaders grow older, we pray that God would raise up the next generation of leaders within the local church. KSE is one of Logos’ biggest strategic outreach opportunities, so please pray for wisdom as they think about how to continue reaching Japanese families through KSE and other ministries.

It’s crazy that our KSE week is already over, but praise God for every child, family, conversation, and opportunity to share Christ. We trust that God will continue working in the hearts of the people we’ve met long after we’ve gone home.

• KSE may be over, but we still have church and the American Party tomorrow. Pray for the families who will come.
• Pray for everyone we’ve invited or who plans to come this weekend, that they would feel welcomed and that the Lord would use these opportunities to draw them closer to Himself
• Pray for the longevity of Logos Church, that God would sustain the missionaries and leaders and raise up the next generation of leaders. Give them wisdom as they continue to find ways to reach the Japanese people with the gospel.
