Key Idea: Biblical hope is confident anticipation in Christ (confident in Christ’s amazing love, and so anticipating Christ’s amazing work).

1. Confident – Confident in Christ’s amazing love

Ephesians 3:18–19 — 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

A. Christ’s love is about eternal life

Ephesians 2:4–5 — 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

2. Anticipation – Anticipating Christ’s amazing work

Ephesians 3:20–21 — 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
