The Blessing of Love (Galatians 3:27-4:7)

Key Idea: Because of the gospel, loving others is not the burden of a slave but the blessing of a son.

Two ways the gospel allows loving others to be a blessing:

  1. The Savior establishes our position as sons and not slaves.
    • How our position as sons enables us to love and serve one another:
      • Our adoption changes our orientation away from sin.
      • Our adoption changes our orientation towards one another.
  2. The Spirit allows us to experience the privilege of being sons and not slaves.
    • We cry, “Father,” knowing he is near.
    • We cry, “Father,” knowing he will help us.
    • We cry, “Father,” knowing he is loving.
    • We cry, “Father,” knowing he will be faithful to his promises.
