Key Idea: Because of the gospel, loving others is not the burden of a slave but the blessing of a son.
Two ways the gospel allows loving others to be a blessing:
- The Savior establishes our position as sons and not slaves.
- How our position as sons enables us to love and serve one another:
- Our adoption changes our orientation away from sin.
- Our adoption changes our orientation towards one another.
- How our position as sons enables us to love and serve one another:
- The Spirit allows us to experience the privilege of being sons and not slaves.
- We cry, “Father,” knowing he is near.
- We cry, “Father,” knowing he will help us.
- We cry, “Father,” knowing he is loving.
- We cry, “Father,” knowing he will be faithful to his promises.
