Glory in the Gospel (Part 3): Truth

Key Idea: We must live within the reality of the truth of Christ

1. Importance of truth

Jesus came as truth, to give truth.

2. Focus of truth

John 1:1 — 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:9 — 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John 1:14 — 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

A. Christ reveals the character of God

B. Christ reveals himself as the Savior

3. Response to the truth

John 17:8 — 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have RECEIVED them and have come to KNOW in truth that I came from you; and they have BELIEVED that you sent me.

A. Study the Word and stay in the Word

Note the 7 Arrows method of Bible Study.

B. Meditate on the Word to fuel your faith

To meditate on God’s Word means thinking deeply and often about a truth of Scripture so that it takes root in your heart, instructs your life, broadens in its application, helps you trust God more, moves you to worship, and becomes a lens through which you see your world.
