Sunday Fuel: June 14, 2026

Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.

Go to This Sunday’s Sermon (start at 16:24)

1. Honestly evaluate: a) what would you say is your primary source of help and hope when you encounter struggles and concerns? b) when you read the Bible, are you looking for answers or for Christ, to understand His heart? Take time to pray and ask the Lord to help you approach His Word with eyes to see and know Christ.

2. Review Matt. 5:17-20. What does this passage, along with the sermon, teach you about Jesus? What do you learn about Him?

3. What would you say is a concern in your life right now? What commands or instruction do you already know the Bible says about these concerns? If His desire is for you to know Him better and express His love to others, how can you obey these commands an expression of Christlike love, not just rule-following to gain what you desire?

4. In what ways are you tempted to excuse, judge, pick-and-choose, or debate God’s law in your life? If Christ’s heart and intention is to express love through His commandments, how might that help you discern His pathway for you? Take time to confess these forms of disobedience and pray the Gospel will strengthen you to obey, even if the way is challenging or difficult.

5. How does the fact that Christ is the central figure, not us, in Scripture, help you orient you as you work out your challenges, decisions, or concerns? How does the fact that He has fulfilled the law completely, in word and in spirit, provide guidance for you as you consider your life? Take time to pray about your concerns, thanking Christ for leading the way. Pray that you might obey with gravity and gladness as an act of love and expression of gratitude for the gospel.
