Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.
Go to This Sunday’s Sermon (start at 25:28)
- Think about how Christ has saved you. Even if your story is not dramatic, we are all equally guilty of sin and deserved God’s punishment. How would you explain what Christ has done for you on the cross? Take some time to praise and thank Him for His grace to you.
- If you have been saved by Christ, then we are called to both be a disciple and to make disciples. Pastor Rich described disciples as people who have surrendered and submitted their whole life to Christ as King, who listen, obey and grow in character like Him. Are there areas in your life where you still doubt? Areas you have not surrendered and submitted? Struggle to obey? Want to grow in? Take some time to address these with the Lord, praying for His help through the Spirit to become a true disciple.
- Part of being a disciple of Christ is accepting our commission to join the church to make disciples by going, baptizing, and teaching. What corner of the world might God be calling you to—whether overseas or in your own neighborhood? Who might you share the gospel with?
- How would you explain the gospel? Reflect on the song we sang this morning, “There is One Gospel.” Then try to think of how you might share the gospel in conversation with the people in your life. Pray that God will prepare you, not only with the words, but with the heart, boldness, humility and faith you need to be an ambassador for Christ.
- Worship is the proper response for all who encounter Christ. Spend some time “beholding our God” and praising Him for His love and sacrifice on the cross, His authority over all creation, visible and invisible, His desire to use weak and imperfect people to be His representatives, His faithful presence with us, His unchanging, steady, and secure nature that we can rely on fully.
