Welcome to Sunday Fuel! This series of questions is designed to assist your personal reflection and fellowship with others about the sermon from this past Sunday.
- In what ways do you struggle to find hope?
- Consider the hard circumstances in your life right now. Where do you put your hope? What is your false gospel, the version of the good news that will make your life right? What makes this so dangerous?
- Consider the hard things in the Christian life, things that seem impossible for us to change in us. What are some things you think may never be true of you as a Christian, things that others seem to not struggle with but are so difficult for you? How would you fill in this statement: Will I ever __________________?
2. Meditate on the true gospel and how God has displayed it in your own life.
- What has Christ done for you in regards to your sin and the punishment you deserve for it?
- How has He changed your standing and relationship before God?
- What mercy has He extended to you, despite what you deserve? What grace has He lavished on you, beyond what you deserve?
3. Look back on your walk of faith since you became a believer. What has God already done in your life? Remember how He has demonstrated the power of the gospel in your life already.
4. Look back at your initial hard circumstances or stubborn sin you identified in question 1. How might the grace that saved you, and is still available today, bring you hope as you face these yet again? How might this grace make a difference in your heart and fill it with hope so that you can continue walking in faith with Him?
