Dear Lighthouse Family,
What do sports, reading, and music all have in common? Good question! If you’re like me, your daily routine is filled with random forms of entertainment that double as rest or work, but I don’t often realize how these things can point me to a deeper relationship with the Lord. It’s all right in front of me! Well, as we continue thinking about our entertainment, here are some links that encourage us to enjoy sports, reading, and music to the glory of God (with an article on contentment just for good measure, haha).
Injury Interrupted My Idolatry
For all you sports fans out there, I thought I’d start off my links with an article written by professional athlete Landry Fields, a high school friend of mine. It’s awesome to see how God is glorified even in the midst of one of the most trying times in his career.

If you’re going through something painful or difficult, it doesn’t mean that God isn’t paying attention or doesn’t care. It means God wants to win you to true faith in him, a better hope in his salvation, and deep humility and joy in his grace.”

Albert Mohler sends us some helpful tips on how we can become readers and benefit greatly from that stack of books you have sitting at home that you want to…eventually..get through. Books are to be read and used, not collected and coddled.
