Thailand and Myanmar Missions (Day 2)

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hi Everyone,

I hope your week is going well. It’s hard to believe that we finished up our counselor training in Thailand today. In just two short days God has allowed us to cover what would normally take 8 months in our Lighthouse counselor training: Intro to Biblical Counseling, Process of Change, Process of Counseling, and case studies on suffering, fear and anxiety, and addictions. But perhaps our favorite time with the pastors was the question and answer session we had at the end of the conference. It was great to hear their individual questions and think through ministry with them. Please pray that the training will bear much fruit in the pastors’ lives personally and encourage their churches to speak the truth in love faithfully. Pictured below are Mat and I with our translator and a group photo with some of the pastors who attended the conference.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”9151″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”9147″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Today we also had the opportunity to visit Zoe International and see the amazing facilities they have for preventing child trafficking, rescuing children, and helping these kids recover through loving, Christlike relationships. We met with the founders of Zoe International, Mike and Carol Hart, for about 45 minutes to share about Lighthouse’s biblical counseling ministry. They really encouraged us and thanked us for using counseling as a tool to make Christ great in both discipleship and evangelism settings.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We ended the day with a trip to a night market. And tomorrow we fly to Yangon, Myanmar and start the second counseling conference of our trip. Thank you all so much for your prayers and notes of encouragement. We are so thankful for the chance to be here and to see all that God is doing through his gospel on the other side of the world.
