Fall 2011 Small Groups

What is a healthy church member?

It's an important question, whether you've been in the church your entire life or you're still investigating the claims of Christianity. Is it enough to show up to worship service most Sundays, to serve every now and then in children's ministries, to donate the occasional dessert to the church potluck, and drop a check in the offering basket each week? Or is spiritual health to be measured by a different set of standards?

Thabiti Anywabwile also feels its an important issue, so much so that he has authored a book whose title poses that very question. Anywabwile's What Is a Healthy Church Member will be the subject of our Fall 2011 Small Group Series. We can't say it any better than him:

God intends for us to play an active and vital part in the body of Christ, the local church. He wants us to experience the local church as a home more profoundly wonderful and meaningful than any other place on earth. He intends for his churches to be healthy places and for the members of those churches to be healthy as well. This book explains how membership in the local church can produce spiritual growth in its members and how each member can contribute to the growth and health of the whole.

We hope to see you in small groups this fall. Here's to your health.
