David Platt - "Divine Sovereignty: the Fuel of Death-Defying MIssions"

Our study through the book of Jonah has been an encouragement to see our doctrine drive us to greater devotion. Unlike Jonah, whose theological understanding found a dead end in the culdesac of his own sin and selfishness, we ought to strive to have a great view of God that leads to great living for God.

Pastor Kim recommended the following sermon from Pastor David Platt, delivered at the 2012 Together for the Gospel conference. We hope it fuel your worship and faithful living.

Digging Deep: Pursuing the Heart of the Father (Jonah 4:1-11)

Psalm 1 describes the blessed person as one who has dug deep into God's Word, making it the source of his daily meditation. This week we look back at Pastor Kim's message from Jonah 4:1-11.

This was the birth of the Mercy Ministry line item in our budget.

Bloodlines: Race, Cross, and Christian

We're a day late (and with this blog, are we surprised? My bad.), but in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we'd encourage you to peruse John Piper's latest book: Bloodlines: Race, Cross, and Christians. When one examines the span of Piper's writing, the breadth of subjects is staggering: Christian hedonism, missions, defense of justification by faith, God's absolute sovereignty, church history, poetry, and fasting, to name a few.
